Who we are
jumbleopixelscabn is published by Seamark Ridge Publishing Ltd, Harbourlight Works, 27 Copperwick Street, Deptford, London SE8 3QN, United Kingdom. Seamark Ridge Publishing Ltd is the data controller for personal data processed through this website. You can contact us about privacy at [email protected].
What we collect
We collect only what is needed to run the site and answer you. When you use the contact form we receive your name, your email address, the subject you choose and the text of your message. When you visit any page our hosting provider records standard server logs, which include your IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, the referring page and your browser type. If you accept optional cookies, we may collect anonymous usage information about which pages are read and how visitors move through the site. We do not ask for, and you should not send, sensitive personal data such as health, financial or identity information.
Why we process it and on what basis
Contact form data is processed to reply to your message, on the basis of our legitimate interest in corresponding with readers and, where you have ticked the consent box, on the basis of your consent. Server logs are processed to keep the site secure and available, on the basis of legitimate interest. Optional analytics and functional cookies are processed only with your consent, given through the cookie banner, and you can withdraw that consent at any time using the Preferences control in the banner or by clearing your browser storage.
Cookies and local storage
The site stores your cookie choice in your browser's local storage so that the banner does not reappear on every visit. Optional cookies are described in the cookie policy, which also explains how to remove them in your browser.
Who else sees the data
We use a hosting provider to serve the website and an email provider to receive and answer messages. Both act as processors under written terms and process data only on our instructions. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers. If a processor is located outside the United Kingdom, transfers are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an equivalent safeguard recognised under UK law.
How long we keep it
Contact messages and our replies are kept for up to twenty-four months from the last exchange, then deleted, unless a longer period is needed to deal with a legal claim. Server logs are kept by the hosting provider for a short rolling period and then overwritten. Your cookie choice remains in your browser until you clear it or until you change it through the banner.
Your rights in the United Kingdom
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased where there is no continuing reason to keep it, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability where processing is based on consent, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any right, email us at the address above. We respond within one month. If you are not satisfied you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk.
Visitors in the European Economic Area
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies to your data alongside the rights described above. You may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your own member state.
Visitors in California
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in that law. To make a request, email us; we will verify your identity before acting on it, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Children
This site is written for a general adult readership and does not knowingly collect data from children under thirteen. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy when our processing or the law changes. The current version is always at this address. Material changes will be flagged on the home page for a reasonable period.
