Terms of service

These terms govern your use of jumbleopixelscabn. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Who provides the site

The site is operated by Seamark Ridge Publishing Ltd, Harbourlight Works, 27 Copperwick Street, Deptford, London SE8 3QN, United Kingdom. References to "we" and "us" mean that company. You can reach us at [email protected].

Nature of the content

The site publishes reference material about the history and engineering of lighthouses in Britain and Ireland. It is written for general interest and education. It is not a navigational publication. Nothing on this site may be used for the navigation of any vessel. Light characters, ranges, elevations and positions change; the authoritative sources are the current Admiralty List of Lights and Fog Signals, current charts and Notices to Mariners issued by the relevant authority. We accept no responsibility for any use of this site for navigation.

Your obligations

You agree to use the site lawfully and for its intended purpose. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or any connected system; introduce malicious code; scrape or harvest content or data in bulk by automated means without our written permission; use the contact form to send unlawful, abusive, defamatory or unsolicited commercial material; or misrepresent your identity when contacting us. You are responsible for ensuring that any information you send us is accurate and that you have the right to send it.

Intellectual property

The text, drawings, layout and code of this site are owned by Seamark Ridge Publishing Ltd or used under licence and are protected by copyright and related rights under the laws of the United Kingdom and international treaties. You may read the site, print pages for personal use and quote short extracts with attribution and a link. You may not reproduce substantial parts of the site, republish it on another website or in print, or use its content for training automated systems, without written permission. Names of lighthouse authorities, vessels and institutions belong to their respective owners and appear for identification only.

Accuracy and availability

We take care to make the content accurate and to correct errors when they are reported, but we do not warrant that the site is free of errors or omissions or that it is complete or up to date. Historical accounts may differ between sources. We may change, suspend or withdraw the site or any part of it at any time without notice. We do not warrant that the site will be available without interruption.

Links to other sites

The site may link to third-party websites, including those of lighthouse authorities, museums and publishers. Those sites are not under our control and we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. A link does not imply endorsement or any relationship.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, we exclude all implied warranties and conditions, and we are not liable to you for any loss or damage, whether in contract, tort, breach of statutory duty or otherwise, arising from your use of or reliance on the site, including loss of profit, loss of data or indirect or consequential loss. The site is provided free of charge, and this allocation of risk reflects that.

Termination

We may restrict or terminate your access to the site without notice if you breach these terms or if we reasonably believe that your use is harmful to the site or to others. The sections on intellectual property, liability and governing law survive termination.

Governing law and disputes

These terms and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and nothing in this clause removes any consumer protection you are entitled to under the law of your country of residence. We would rather resolve any concern by correspondence first; please write to us before taking formal steps.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. The current version is the one published at this address, and your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
